If you are ever thinking about starting jiu-jitsu, my best advice is just to do it. After trying other gyms and figuring that when I stepped into Tenbears, it would be like all the others, I was happily mistaken. In my first class I was nervous before going in but all that nervousness was squashed when I met and started talking to the people there. Everybody was so nice and helpful and considerate. They didn’t make me feel bad about being new. Ever since then I was hooked. Jiu-jitsu is about learning about your body and connecting it with your mind. There are so many small details in every single movement that can very quickly weed out the experienced from the inexperienced and that’s what makes it special. I’m still a white belt so most of my rolls don’t go in my favor but it is still amazing to see my progress, as I can visibly see that I am doing better in my performance since starting. I’ve developed a routine, I’m in the best shape of my life, and my mental health is at an all-time high. I’ve only been doing jits for about 4 months now but I now can’t imagine my life without it. Thank you Tenbears!
